Passover

We started off our wonderful vacation in Richmond doing lots of exciting activities. We got Uncle Bri and Aunt Jenni to ourselves for a few days. Well we had to share with Mama and Papa and Jenni's brother, Andrew, but they shared well.

We went to the pet store because it was too rainy to go to Maymont Park to see the animals. We went to the playground to play baseball (see video below). Aunt Jenni even made us a yummy dinner one night. Aunt Jenni's brother, Andrew, also spent some time with us. He and Neil shared a room and we learned that Neil has so much to say that he even talks in his sleep.

Here is a short video of Neil learning to play baseball with Papa. It captures Neil's only good hit. Way to perform for the camera, Neil! Papa spent many patient hours teaching Neil baseball, tennis, and the art of kite flying to name a few.

On Tuesday we picked up Nanny and headed to Williamsburg for Passover. We had dinner at the local pizza parlor and Neil got cold. It is a good thing that Aunt Jenni is a good sharer and shared her coat with him.

We walked to the playground and Uncle Bri and Neil played on the fire truck. We were glad to have Fire fighter Neil to put out all the pretend fires on the playground.

We had a great in Williamsburg. The highlight was the wiffle ball game organized by PJ. We also played tennis and watched Slumdog Millionaire. Papa even watched it during the day before it was really, really dark.

As you can tell, we spent a lot of time hanging out on the porch. For the second straight year, we've had great weather. However, the Hawaiians found the 70 degree days very cold. Ha, ha.

We had a nice sedar that Neil was excited to participate in. He couldn't believe that everyone was going to read and eat at the same time. For those that don't know, Neil likes to have books read to him while he eats all his meals.

Thanks for looking at this long blog page, but we had fun with so many different relatives that we had to include lots of pictures. I think I did a pretty good job considering I had about 110 pictures to choose from.

And here is a short video of Siena smiling. Enjoy!

Siena Update

The Joshi Family is doing great! Here are a couple pictures we took at the beginning of the week during bath time. Siena looked at her big brother for the entire 20 minute bath. He is very gentle with her and makes sure she is really clean.

Siena is 8 weeks old today. It is hard to believe. The time is going so fast! She has her 2 month check up on Wed so we'll give you the stats then, but as you can see we are not worried about her being scrauny like Neil. She is loving my milk!

We've been enjoying our visit with Dadi (PJ's Mom). Neil has been busy learning, cooking, and playing with her.

We are getting very excited to see everyone for Passover!

Mama and Aunt Boo Boo

Mama and Aunt Boo Boo came to visit us for 24 hours. Yesterday evening we took them to the library bus and to the neighborhood playground. Today, we had a wonderful morning at a different playground and then we ate lunch outside. It was a quick visit, but a really nice one. The weather is beautiful! Oh, Uncle Bri and Aunt Jenni--Do you recognize Neil's shirt? He finally grew into his birthday present from last year!

Nanny and Mama Came to Visit

Wednesday, March 11 Mama and Nanny went to Neil's school for the Celebrating Families unit. Neil showed off most of the stuffed animals that Nanny has made over years including Bert and Ernie, Elmo, Bears, Corduroy, etc and Mama read a story to the class. We had a great visit with them!

Siena's newest trick is smiling! She is doing great and Neil continues to be a great big brother.

Bhumi and Uday Came to Visit

Last weekend we had a wonderful time with Uday and Bhumi. The boys cheered on the Tar Heels at the Dean Dome. They even took the bus to the game (Neil's fave part) and they got their picture taken with Ramseys! Neil enjoyed all the attention he got from Uncle Uday and Aunt Bhumi. We can't wait to see them again!

Bhumi took a great video of the Big Brother bathing Siena and you know how we like to take pictures of bath time. Now you can see the Big Brother in action and see why it is my favorite part of the day with both kids.

Siena is One Month Old

My friend, Angie, took these amazing pictures of myself, Siena, and Neil for Siena's one month birthday.

Siena went to the pediatrician last week also for her one month check up and we got a great report. Siena weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz and is in the 50th percentile. Wow, a Joshi baby that is average weight and has some thigh fat and big kissable cheeks....It's amazing! She is already outgrowing her newborn clothes and has outgrown her newborn diapers.

Neil continues to be a great big brother and is enjoying his new role. Siena is lucky to have him!

Hope you all enjoy the unseasonably warm weather this weekend. It is 80 degrees here in North Carolina.

Predictably Irrational

As many of you know, I like to read books and boy did I come across a good one.
If you are looking for a great read, please go out and grab: http://www.predictablyirrational.com/ by Dan Ariely. This is a very down to earth book which focuses on behavioral economics.
Sounds boring, I know -- but it is anything but. If you read it, just give a call because I would love to discuss some of the salient points. It is far and away the best book I have read this year!

This guy is a genius and we're sort of similar (he's a Jewish dude married to an Indian girl with 2 kids). The downside is that he is a professor over at Duke, but I will let that slide!

Lastly -- if you are getting access to the blog because someone has forwarded it to you, you can just become a "follower" -- see the right hand side of this webpage. You'll get the updates and not have to rely on getting it forwarded to you.
